Nordley win away again, West Brom earn draw

Willenhall Nordley earned another away win in week 6 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League Premier Division as they won 9-3 at Moseley CC. Skipper Scott Simpson says “we played well from the off and took to the green very well. By our own admission it was a very away friendly pace but we still had to play what was in front of us. Good performance from the lads. we look forward to the home leg against a good bunch of lads.” Scott himself was best winner 8, with Paul Evans getting MVP for his 14 win. For the home side Grant Soller was best winner and MVP 12. The George kept up the pressure at the top with a 9-1 home win over previous leaders Stretton Anglesey. Marc Wilson was best winner and MVP 5 with Stretton’s winner being Neil Brown 14 to give him MVP. West Brom FSC earned a fine draw at Tanworth in Arden with 4 winners. Mike Hill was best winner for them 9, with captain Matt Hocknull getting MVP for his 19 win. It was captain Stuart Bishop who led the way for the home side with his 12 win to earn him MVP. Moor Lane beat M&B Cheslyn Hay 8-2 with Richard Walker best winner 8, and Adam Walker MVP winning 20. For M&B it was Steve Davis who was best winner and MVP 12.

Willenhall Nordley and the George are level at the top of the table, with M&B Cheslyn Hay trailing West Brom FSC by 3 and Moor Lane by another 5. Scott Simpson and Marc Wilson have both won 5 matches.
