West Brom Whitewash, Nordley win away again
West Brom FSC earned their first win of the season in spectacular fashion as they whitewashed Moor Lane in week 7 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Louis Jones was their best winner and MVP 21-1. Dave Alldritt was MVP for the visitors for getting 20. Willenhall Nordley won away again, this time 8-4 at M&B Cheslyn Hay. Captain Scott Simpson led the way winning 11, with Paul Evans getting MVP for winning 15. For the home side it was Tim Allen best winner 12 and Kevin Keary MVP 17. Tanworth in Arden got a great 4 winners at the Greville, going down by just 8 shots. Captain Stuart Bishop said it was “a good competitive match against a strong Greville side. Our team bowled well and deservedly came away with 4 points. The overall result could have gone either way. Credit to their groundsman for producing an excellent running green.” Dave Clarke and Nathan Pritchard was best winners for them 14, with Stuart himself getting MVP for getting 20. Pete Dunkley was MVP and best winner 9 for the hosts. Moseley CC will be happy with their 3 winners at the George. Bill Kinchin was their best result and MVP 10, with Phil Clinton the same for the George with his 3 win.
Willenhall Nordley are 1 ahead of the George, who are another 12 ahead of the Greville, who have a game in hand. M&B Cheslyn Hay are 4 behind Moor Lane at the bottom, who are another 5 behind West Brom FSC. Scott Simpson and Marc Wilson have won 6 out of 6 so far this season.
