George & Nordley win away, M&B earn fab four
The George and Willenhall Nordley both won in week 12 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League Premier Division. The George won 9-3 at Tanworth in Arden to inflict Tanworth’s first home loss of the season. Elliot McGuinness was best winner 9, with Matt Price getting MVP for winning 17. For the home side it was captain Stuart Bishop who was best winner and MVP for his 7 win. Nordley won by the same score at Moor Lane with Kevin Hocknull and Dave Semper both winning single figures 4 and 9 respectively, with Dave getting MVP. For the hosts it was Ashley Hickman best winner and MVP 5. The Greville Arms lost ground to both as they only beat M&B Cheslyn Hay 6-4. Best winner and MVP for them was Adam Weaver 21-8. M&B skipper Aaron Tapper said “we’ve been disappointed with some of our recent results on the road, especially when the 20’s have been going the other way but we dug deep in difficult conditions for both sides. We have now give ourselves a chance with some home games approaching.” Aaron himself was best winner 13, with Jordan Picken MVP for winning 17. West Brom FSC beat Stretton Anglesey 8-2 as Simon Homer was best winner 6 and Rachel Bennett MVP for winning 18. Lewis Belcher was best winner and MVP 14 for the visitors.
The George and Willenhall Nordley are level at the top, but the George have a game in hand, and the Greville are another 7 behind. M&B Cheslyn Hay are two points ahead of Moor Lane. Scott Simpson and Ant Bracken are both on 9 wins.
