Big win for M&B, Stretton beat The George
M&B Cheslyn Hay earned a big win in week 15 against Moor Lane to avoid relegation from the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. They won 8-2 to please captain Aaron Tapper. “The green is proving difficult for away teams at the moment with the good weather were experiencing. We managed to come away with the result we wanted however no time to dwell with a challenging trip to Willenhall on Monday.” Daniel Edkins was best winner 7 with Jordan Picken MVP 8, while for the Lane it was Ashley Hickman best winner and MVP 8. Stretton Anglesey defeated The George to continue their unbeaten home run this season. John Dewey and Darren Carter were best winners 9 but Matt Kelly-Wally was MVP for winning 10. Elliot McGuinness produced an incredible 21-2 win to earn best win and MVP for the visitors. Willenhall Nordley capitalised with a 9-1 home win over Moseley CC with Kevin Hocknull best winner 5 and Dan Bodley MVP for winning 7. The winner for the away side was James Seville 11 to earn MVP. West Brom FSC won by the same score to continue their great form as Louis Jones was best winner and MVP 2. The winner for Tanworth was Dave Clarke 18.
The George are now 5 clear of Willenhall Nordley, and another 11 ahead of the Greville. Moor Lane are 8 behind M&B Cheslyn Hay, who are two more behind Tanworth in Arden. Scott Simpson and Ant Bracken are both on 11 wins.
