Alan Bentley Open Preview

The Alan Bentley Open takes place at West Bromwich Football Supporters Club tomorrow with 32 players chasing the first prize. Callum Wraight starts as favourite, hoping to bounce back from a first round exit at the Coors Meole Open last week, and plays Connor Bray first game. Connor’s brother Callum is also in the field and takes on James Dennis first game. Last year’s winner Elliot McGuinness of the George plays Wayne Rogers, while Kevin Boon plays Paul Lamb at the bottom of the draw. Meole Open Finalist Reece Farr plays Sam Millward, who he beat in last week’s quarters, while second favourite Dan Petcher plays Ivan Smout. One of the ties of the 1st round sees youngsters Tom Palmer play Conor Chamberlain, and Gary Owen plays M&B Cheslyn Hay’s Aaron Tapper. Ben Percival has won this competition before, and takes on Phil Clinton from the George. The Windmill’s Kevin Handley has Matt Hill of the Potteries first game, with another Potteries player Paul Dale playing Mike Tunstall. Mark Taylor takes on Glen Herbert and John Dewey plays Andy Jones from Shropshire. Carl Fielding versus Danny Sillitoe promises to be a cracker, as well as Kevin Hocknull of Willenhall Nordley taking on the Greville’s Steve Wallace. Leigh Burdett plays Chris Worthington in the other tie of the 1st round.

The draw and odds are here. I hope to be able to provide scores throughout the day.
