Bradmore make bow, Langley look for quick start
Division One of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League finally starts as 8 teams battle for the 2 promotion places to the Premier Division. It promises to be a tight battle with a close table after the top two last season. The real unknown will be Bradmore, making their bow in the league. Captain Reece Farr says “we host Hamstead tonight, don’t really know much about them and they wouldn’t have seen our green, so we will be looking at getting off to a good start.” Hamstead finished 8th last season, but only 12 points off 3rd, and another year on their green will help their quest for promotion. Triplex finished 3rd last season, so will be one of the favourites to go up, and host Victoria Park who have strengthened the best of all the teams with the addition of Chris Ward, and will have a year’s experience under their belt now. Baldwin meet Woodfield with both teams just 4 points apart last season, so it could be a close game. Langley were the in form team of the second half last season after a disastrous first half, so will be hoping to keep that up and have a quicker start. They host Belmont Services, who will be looking for promotion after finishing top 5 last season.
