Top Two Clash, Mill look to build
The top two of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League Premier Division meet in week 5. Atherstone Cons have been impressive in their opening four games in the league, but face a tough test against the Greville Arms, who have had their own good start Captain Tom Lea says “it is a big game for us and the Greville have a good team. The green will be running and we hope that will a big advantage to us and come out with a positive result.” The George sit below both, and will be looking for a good home win over M&B Cheslyn Hay, who are in need of the points at the bottom. Nordley are level with the George, but face a tough trip to Stretton Anglesey, however they only beat West Brom FSC by one in their last home game. West Brom travel to Moseley looking for a repeat of that performance, while Moseley will be needing a good home win to move away from trouble. Windmill will look to build on a good away win at M&B Cheslyn Hay last game as they host Tanworth in Arden, who lost their last game at home to Atherstone. Captain Stuart Gittings said we are “looking forward to Tanworth coming to the Mill, weather has turned so green should be doing a bit as always. Expecting a tight match against a good team and good players hoping to build on our win at M&B. Our home form will be crucial in our aim of staying in this division.”
