Belmont aim to bounce back, Woodfield face tough trip
Belmont Services will aim to bounce back in week 5 in Division One of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. They have another home game, this time against Victoria Park, and will be hoping the weather is much kinder to them this week. Vic Park had their game called off last week, but have had two good away results so far this season. Baldwin will be wanting to build on that great away win last week when they host Bradmore, who have struggled so far in their debut season, but are more than capable of getting a few winners there. Woodfield face a tough trip to Triplex, with captain Nick Newey knowing it’s “not an easy fixture for us. Our 2 visits saw 4 winners and a victory the first time and 2 winners and a 42 shot defeat last year. We lost 2 Staffordshire County players from 2 years ago (Stuart Edwards and Pete Cookson) but we now have a young(ish) team and hopefully the young guns can step up. An improvement on last year’s result would be welcome.” Triplex have had a solid home start to the season, and will be looking to continue that. Langley have had an excellent start at home and will be looking for more of the same versus Hamstead, who will be looking at getting near the 4 winners they got first game at Bradmore.
