Greville face tough trip, Atherstone & Nordley aim to bounce back
League leaders the Greville Arms face a tough trip to Warwick & Worcester rivals West Brom FSC in week 7 in the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Captain Josh Hale knows it is a “really tough test West Brom away. We have our Saturday result to give us confidence but we will have to fight hard for every point against a quality team.” West Brom only just beat Moseley CC 6-4 last game so know they will need to up their game against the leaders. Atherstone Cons are second and will be looking to bounce back from their whitewash at the Greville last week when they host Willenhall Nordley, who themselves will be looking for a response from a rare home defeat to Stretton Anglesey last week. Stretton will look to build on that, even though they have players missing in the Isle of Man, as they host M&B Cheslyn Hay, who will also look to build on a great win over the Champions the George. The George will look for a good home win over Windmill, who had their last away game rained off so will be eager to get going again after a few good results for them. Tanworth in Arden were supposed to be the team they faced, and having not played are a few points adrift at the bottom. They will be wanting to get a few points at Moseley CC but Moseley had two excellent results against West Brom FSC the last two weeks. Moseley skipper Scott Saunders says it is a “big game, two teams fighting to stay in the league. Full team to pick from and difficult decisions made, win at home and 3 or more winners away every week should keep us up.”
