Leaders face tough trip, Big game for Tanworth
League leaders Atherstone Cons face a tough trip to Willenhall Nordley in week 8 in the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Captain Tom Lea says “we are looking forward to travelling away to one of the toughest greens in the league. We aren’t travelling with any real expectations but we will see what we can do and hopefully come away with as many points as possible.” Nordley lost their last home game against Stretton Anglesey, so will be wanting to make sure they bounce back this home game. Stretton are on fire after that win, and will be looking for another when they travel to M&B Cheslyn Hay. But M&B beat the Champions the George a couple of weeks ago, so know they can mix it with the best. Tanworth in Arden face a big home game to try and catch up with the pack as they host Moseley CC, who have had a good run lately themselves. Windmill are another who’ve had a good run but face a tough home test against the Champions the George, who sit in 2nd place at the moment. The Greville Arms will look for a good home win over West Brom FSC, but know West Brom will have good knowledge of their green.
