Week 11 Preview – Premier Division

Joint Leaders face Nordley test, Champs take on other leaders Stretton

The joint league leaders Greville Arms take on Willenhall Nordley in week 11 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Captain Josh Hale knows it is a “tough game tomorrow night against our friends from Willenhall. We will be looking for maximum points to boost our league title hopes.” Nordley have struggled this season so far, having drawn and lost a game at home already, but are still a dangerous team that can win anywhere. The Champions the George are another team to have lost at home this season, and must bounce back against joint leaders Stretton Anglesey who already have won two away games this season. Captain Elliot McGuiness says “we’re looking to bounce back after a complete disaster last week! The Anglesey are in good form and seem to have settled into the league now and so this is another potential banana skin for us but I’m hopeful of a good result.” Atherstone Cons come off that great win at the George and make another trip this time to M&B Cheslyn Hay. This will be an unfamiliar green to them, but know M&B have lost twice at home already. M&B know a win is much needed to move away from the relegation zone. The same can be said for bottom side Tanworth in Arden as they entertain West Brom FSC, who won at M&B in their last away game and currently sit 4th. Windmill also are a team who need to bounce back from their last home loss against Stretton when they take on Moseley CC, who, in contrast, come off two fine result against Nordley and are looking up rather than down the table.
