Triplex whitewash again, Woodfield win well
Triplex whitewashed Bradmore in week 10 of Division One of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League to move into 2nd place. Captain Chris Baker says “another excellent home performance by our team. Danny Bowater was excellent getting us off to a great start with a 21-9 win in the front four (to be best winner and MVP). Everyone battled really hard to get over the line especially Alan Darling coming back from 14-19 down to win his game 21-19. We look forward to our last four games and trying to pick up as many points as possible.” Paul Busby was MVP for the visitors for getting 19. Hamstead are top after defeating Baldwin 8-2, Marc Franks leading the way and earning MVP for winning 3. It was the two Kernicks who won for Baldwin, Shannon 14 and James 15, James getting MVP. Woodfield beat Belmont Services 9-1, John Newey best winner 10 and Rory Rollason MVP for winning 12. Richard Staley was Belmont’s winner 14, but Kevin Starkey got MVP for getting 19. Victoria Park beat Langley 7-3 with captain Stu Edwards leading the way winning 5 and Chris Ward getting MVP for winning 9. Mike Tunstall was best winner and MVP for the away side 11.
Hamstead are a point ahead of Triplex, with Victoria Park and Baldwin 7 behind. Ben Harris leads three others on 8 wins, and Joe Bown and Jonathan Blakeman are still on 4 MVPs.
