Atherstone face leaders, Greville look to bounce back
Atherstone Cons face the leaders Stretton Anglesey in week 13 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Captain Tom Lea said “it’s another big game tomorrow to a strong team in Stretton. We know a few have played the green before and we are missing a couple of players due to holidays but we will still be hoping for a big win to keep us in contention.” Stretton know a couple of teams, including Atherstone, have a game in hand below, so a good result against them will set them up for the home return next week. The Greville Arms did lead the table but a couple of bad results against Willenhall Nordley have meant they have dropped down the table. Captain Josh Hale knows it’s been a “few bad results for us the past couple weeks. Need to get back to winning ways against Windmill, a team we haven’t faced in a few years.” The Windmill had a great away win last week, but will be hard pressed to repeat that this week. Tanworth in Arden also had a great away win last week, and will look to build on that as they host bottom of the table M&B Cheslyn Hay, who know they will need to put together a near perfect end of the season to stay up. West Brom FSC and Willenhall Nordley come into their game off differing results last week, West Brom losing at home and Nordley hammering the Greville. Moseley CC and The George had their game called off by Moseley.
