Mill face leaders, Stretton take on Atherstone
Windmill face the league leaders Greville Arms in week 14 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Captain Stu Gittings said “we got what we deserved last week. We were poor off the green and not so good on it. Greville played it well but we could have had 1 or 2 winners. So now we are in squeaky bum time and need to shape up on our last few games especially at home. We are expecting a tough game against a good side and a win is required.” The Greville know an away win could mean they stay top of the table going into the final four games. Stretton Anglesey were top before losing out at Atherstone Cons last week, and will be looking to move back there when they host the same team. Atherstone are well placed in 2nd with a game in hand and know a good away haul will give them even more of an advantage. Willenhall Nordley are in 4th and host a West Brom FSC side who are three points behind them, with both knowing one good or poor result could mean a battle at the top or bottom. M&B Cheslyn Hay are 14 points off safety and know a big home win over Tanworth in Arden is needed to be able to get safety. Tanworth are flying after two great results though, and will be looking to continue that in their own bid for survival. The George against Moseley CC is postponed until 29th August.
