Greville beat George, West Brom earn big home win
The Greville Arms beat the George 8-2 in week 16 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Captain Josh Hale said it was a “superb result last night. Our Lads fought hard for every point against the George as is always required. Now to the hard task of getting the W on there in 2 weeks time.” Best winner for them was Steve Wallace 9 to earn him MVP, while for the Champions, it was Russ Prosser best winner 10 and Rich Dandy MVP for getting 18. Willenhall Nordley are now top after beating the Windmill 8-2, Owen Evans leading the way 21-3 to earn him MVP. For the Mill it was Phil Chester best winner and MVP 15, as they stay in the relegation battle. Atherstone Cons are just behind the Greville after getting just one winner at West Brom FSC, captain Tom Lea 20 to get him MVP. Chris Watts was best winner and MVP 6 for the home side, a win that gives them some breathing space from the bottom two. Tanworth in Arden beat Stretton Anglesey 7-3 to move further clear of the bottom two. Captain Stuart Bishop led the way 21-9, with Mark Williams MVP for winning 11. John Dewey was best winner 13 for the Derbyshire side, and Conor Chamberlain MVP for winning 15. Moseley CC got 3 winners at M&B Cheslyn Hay to stay a point ahead of them at the bottom. Grant Soller was their best winner and MVP 15, while for the hosts it was Neil Bromley best winner 7 and Steve Davis MVP for winning 14.
Willenhall Nordley are 3 clear of the Greville Arms and 1 more ahead of Atherstone Cons, but both have a game in hand. M&B Cheslyn Hay are 1 point behind Moseley CC, who are 11 adrift of Windmill, but have three games in hand.
