The Greville Arms reached the final of the 2023 BCGBA World Club Championships but lost out to Pudsey by 30 chalks. They had two winners in the final, Ash Bracken 17 and Darren Plenderleith 18, but couldn’t stop an impressive Pudsey side who had beaten Parkfield Labour in their Semi Final by 84 with all 8 winners! The Greville defeated Stretton Anglesey in their Semi Final by 3 chalks, Darren Plenderleith being the best of 4 winners for them 12, with Stretton captain Brian Smith best for them by the same score. In their first game they beat Alvaston & Boulton by 57 with just one loser, Callum Mitchell their best winner 8. Stretton had got past Willenhall Nordley by 30, John Dewey their best winner 7 with Paul Evans best for Nordley 12.
