Alan Bentley Memorial Preview

Callum Wraight is favourite to retain the Alan Bentley Memorial and add to his Coors Meole Open success last Sunday. He plays Will Clarke first game, while the George’s Ryan Prosser is second favourite and has Cody Everitt of M&B Cheslyn Hay first up. Ben Percival has won this before and lost in the final last year, and has Russ Prosser of the George first game, while Darren Plenderleith of the Greville Arms is just below in the draw and plays James Dennis. Clay Flattley meets the Windmill’s Glynn Storer, and M&B Cheslyn Hay’s Aaron Tapper takes on Gary Pritchard. Willenhall Nordley’s Paul Evans has a tough opener against Tom Palmer, with another good game just above them as Penn Captain Darrell Handley takes on Nathan Dawes, who played a few games last season for the George in this league. There is an all Potteries clash of Gary Owen and Kerry Morris, and Stretton Anglesey’s Conor Chamberlain plays Tom Skelding. Victoria Park captain Chris Ward takes on Daniel Bennett, Hamstead’s skipper Craig Dugdale has Jason Galvin, The George’s Marc Wilson plays Mark Orme and the Windmill’s Phil Chester takes on George Hines. Pete Varney will look to roll back the years against Martin Puffett, and Kevin Hocknull of Nordley has Alex Jones from Shropshire, who has entered a couple of competitions so far this season.

The draw and odds are here. Jon Palmer is the bookie for the competition.
