Premier Division
Hamstead will look to bounce back from their opening home defeat in week 2 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. It doesn’t get any easier though, as they entertain the Greville Arms, who will be looking to win there to follow up their 3 winners at the George last week. The George will look to improve on that win when they host Baldwin, who will look for more than the one winner they got at Stretton Anglesey last week. Stretton know they will do well to match that result again when they take on West Brom FSC, who come off an away win at Hamstead last week. Captai Paul Chamberlain says “a 2nd successive home game in bad weather by the looks of it. Won’t be easy against West Brom who pushed us close last year.” Willenhall Nordley will look for another good home win when they take on Moseley CC, who would be looking for another 3 winners like they got at Atherstone Cons last week.

Division One
Woodfield play their first Division One game of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League in week 2. They take on local rivals Penn, who will want to bounce back after losing at home last week. Woodfield captain Nick Newey said “we’ve been hit by the news that Tom Bate wants a year off and Mark Atkins is in Dusseldorf, but I’ve got a couple of able replacements. We’ll have to see. Some of our players have had quite a bit of game time and some (myself included) very little.” Belmont earned a good 4 winners at Langley last week and will want to back that up at home to Triplex. Skipper Brian Jordan said “looking to getting a home win after a good four ends last week at Langley. Once again it will be tough as weather not looking good for us.” Triplex will be thinking an early away win will set an early marker, especially after a good win at home last week. The Oak will look to bounce back as they host Langley, who will be wanting to get a few winners to back up last week’s home win. Two teams that won last week meet in Stafford as Victoria Park take on M&B Cheslyn Hay, with both teams looking to build on that opening win.
