Week 2 Review – Premier Division

Greville win away, Nordley & George win well

The Greville won away in week 2 of the Premier Divison of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League as they won 8-4 at Hamstead to continue their solid start. Captain Callum Mitchell said “an overall steady performance from the off with 3 out of 4 winners in the first four and a 19 defeat set us up for the back four to finish the job and get an important away win on the board.” Carl Fielding was best winner 7 with Nathan Caines MVP 14. For the home side it was Ben Harris who was best winner 13 and Craig Dugdale MVP for winning 17. The George won 9-1 over Baldwin to keep up their good start with Phil Clinton and Elliot McGuinness best winners 5, the former getting MVP. It was Ryan Walters who was only winner and MVP 19 for the visitors. Willenhall Nordley continued their good start with a 9-1 victory over Moseley CC. Best winner was Ant Bracken 6 with Mark Jones MVP for winning 14. Scott Follis was the winner for Moseley 20 to earn MVP. Stretton Anglesey won 8-2 against West Brom FSC to add to their 9-1 win in week 1. Matt Kelly-Wally was best winner 12 with Conor Chamberlain MVP for winning 15. For the away side it was Greg Smith and Mike Hill who were the winners 16, with Greg getting MVP.
