Premier Division
The top four all face away games in week 8 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. League leaders the George face a tough trip to Willenhall Nordley who sit in 5th place and will need a good win to catch the teams above them, which won’t be easy given the form the George have been in as they’ve won their last four games. Stretton Anglesey are still unbeaten and will do well to remain so when they travel to Atherstone Cons, who have not lost a home game since moving to the green at the start of last season. The Greville Arms will hope to match what the George did at Windmill and win there, but the Mill need the points as they now find themselves in the bottom two. Captain Stu Gittings knows it “will be another tough test, the Greville are a very good side with some exceptional individual players. However we need to get back on winning ways after 3 poor results.
Green is still poor but the same for everyone, expecting a tight game going for 4-4 and win by a dozen shots.” West Brom FSC have had a great start to the season and will be travelling to Baldwin looking to win to keep that run going. Baldwin are now out of the bottom two but know more home wins are needed to keep them out of there. Hamstead travel to Moseley CC still looking for their first win, but Moseley CC will want to bounce back from their last home game which was a defeat.

Division One
Triplex will look to gain on the league leaders Victoria Park who have the bye in week 8 of Division One of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. They host Tanworth in Arden though, who despite a slow start will be looking for promotion. Captain Stuart Bishop says “this will be a tough away game against our friends at Triplex. They have a lot of quality players, a very good home green and are going well in the league this season. Our lads are looking forward to the game and we will be looking to pick up some valuable points on our travels again.” M&B Cheslyn Hay sit in 3rd place and will be looking for a good home win over Penn to close the gap at the top, but Penn come off a good win last week against Langley. Langley will look to bounce back from that when they take on Woodfield, but the visitors will be looking for a win to give themselves a change of challenging for promotion. The Royal Oak host Belmont with both teams coming off a good 3 winners last week.
