Premier Division
It is a big night at the bottom and top in the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. The George have it in their hands, 7 points and they definitely are champions once again. Opponents West Brom FSC could still win the league if they beat the George 10-2 or 9-3 and by 57 chalks, but that is a big ask. The Greville Arms can also win the league, but need at least a 10-2 win at Atherstone Cons to do so. Atherstone though know they need to win, and hope they better Windmill’s result by 2 points, or secure an aggregate win by more than theirs by 75 shots if they better their result by one point. Windmill host Moseley CC and know a 10-0 win will secure survival, with Moseley needing just the point to survive, although it would require them losing 10-0 and Atherstone winning 10-0 with a swing in aggregate of 186 for them to go down! Windmill captain Stu Gittings said “well we have got to the last game of season with our destiny in our own hands which is a result in its own after a difficult season. Hopefully Moseley will still be celebrating a fantastic win for the Warwickshire bowls team on Sunday what a game that was! Back to the match, a good side Moseley who are always competitive but played in the right manner so hopefully 8-0 and nothing to worry about!” Baldwin are in a similar position to Moseley CC, knowing one point at Willenhall Nordley secures survival, but they should be alright regardless barring an aggregate swing of 140. Nordley are pretty much locked in 5th place, needing just 3 points to secure the last prize money position. Stretton Anglesey play Hamstead with both teams locked in 4th and 10th position respectively.

Division One
There are four teams involved in four different fixtures who could join Triplex in going up from Division One of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Triplex themselves need just two points from their home game against Victoria Park, who themselves need a big away win to give themselves a chance of going up. Tanworth in Arden have it in their own hands, if they get 8 points at Langley then they will return instantly to Division One. Captain Stuart Bishop says it is the “final game and all to play for. The lads are up for the challenge as an away win may be required to gain promotion depending on results elsewhere. Captain will be looking for another away performance like at Belmont.” M&B Cheslyn Hay host Woodfield, and know they need a big win to capitalise on any slip up by Tanworth. Penn could still go up, but they would need at least 11 points at Royal Oak coupled with the three teams above them all slipping up.
