Week 4 Preview

Premier Division

Bottom placed Willenhall Nordley face a tough test in the Champions the Greville Arms in week 4 of the Premier Division of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Captain Mark Jones says this “will be the toughest game of the season at home without any doubt. But we are confident we can get a home win against the best team in the league and kick start our season.” The Greville have had a steady start to the season and would love an away win to move towards the top of the table. Boldmere Sports & Social are the only team that have won away so far and will be looking to not waste that as they entertain West Brom FSC, the team they won at last week. West Brom though will want to bounce back. Baldwin are second bottom and will look for a good win over Stretton Anglesey who currently sit second in the league after two solid home wins. The George host Moseley CC looking for at least a 7-3 victory to draw level with their opponents who would probably taking three winners before a bowl is delivered. Tanworth in Arden who look to repeat their good home win over the Greville when they entertain league leaders Triplex who have had a great start to their season so far.

Division One

Windmill will look for a good home win in week 4 of Division One of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League as they entertain M&B Cheslyn Hay. Captain Stu Gittings says it is a “must win for us really as they beat us last week, the green looking good and running well so no excuses, we need to get the job done. Being in such a small league in regards to number of teams it imperative we do better against these teams than they do against us on their green.” Woodfield had a great win at Short Heath Liberals and will want a good home win over them to back that up. Short Heath are still finding their feet on their return to the league and will want a positive result going into their bye weeks in June.
