Midland Masters 2018 Preview

We have 22 qualifiers travelling to Stretton Bowling Club today aiming to win the Midland Masters and the place in the Champion of Champions that go with it. Callum Wraight of Castlefields is looking to reclaim the title he won in 2016, and plays Ben Percival of Baddesley first game. His team mate Jon Palmer is against Paul Lamb from King George V in a tasty looking tie, while other team mate Mark Taylor takes on Paul Evans of Willenhall Nordley. There are two M&B Cheslyn Hay hopefuls in the draw, with Chris Ward against youngster George Chapman from Baddesley and Gordon Hawkins playing Andy Ferris. Wrockwardine Wood’s Jamie King is playing Philip Clapham from Derbyshire, and St Georges pair Clay Flattley and Lewis Scott take on Tyler Dewis from Baddesley and Andy Runham respectively. Dudley Dell’s Nathan Dawes plays Andrew Jepson, while Derbyshire county players Dan Petcher of Netherseal and Stretton Anglesey’s Conor Chamberlain will look to use green advantage when they take on Chris Gill and Daniel Edkins, who played a game for Baddesley, respectively, while Dan’s team mate James Southern will look to do the same against Peter Hulse Jnr. Baddesley have their 5th player taking part with Carl Wilkins versus Sam Millward, who has had a game for the George this season. Dave Hayward of Chadsmoor plays Leigh Burdett, while Greg Smith from the George will be expected to feature strongly, but doesn’t have an easy game against Mark Burdett to start with.

The Summit Garage and the league would like to wish all our hopefuls the best of luck!
