Stretton, Ward End & Royal Oak win big
There were three 9-1 wins for Stretton Anglsey, Ward End Cons and Royal Oak in Gameweek 11 of the Summit Garage Staffordshire Premier Bowls League. Ward End Cons beat the leaders King George V in another impressive win. Captain James Cosgrave commented on “another great win on Monday. As a team we played brilliantly and deserved the win. We were unlucky not to get a full house but if someone had offered me 7 winners before the game I would have took it. Hopefully we get a few winners on Monday to keep us in the hunt for promotion.” Adam Weaver and Brett Wallis were best winners 6 with Adam gaining MVP, while Chris Bergin was the winner for the leaders 19 to earn him MVP. Stretton Anglesey kept in touch with their 9-1 win over Windmill. Andy Thompson was best winner 5 and Ed Wallis MVP 10. For the Mill it was Dave Chester 21-20 who was their winner and MVP. Royal Oak also won 9-1 over Tanworth in Arden. Dave Scriven was best winner 5 and Martin Perks MVP 13, with Dave Clarke the same for the visitors 15.
Great Barr beat Penn 7-3 to get closer to the teams above them outside of the relegation zone. Mathew Parks was best winner and MVP 4, with Andy Jones’ 10 win earning him the same accolades.
